A lot of trainers couldn't lie straight in a bed to be honest. There's not enough blokes like John Gosden and Henry Cecil.
Had a little bet on Prince Siegfried (Epsom, 5/4) on my way to the gym, recouped a little of what I lost on Wild Coco etc.
Small win but a tonic-non-the-less, after Wild Coco making it blatantly obvious she won't go on fast ground against decent horses, The Real Article showing he wasn't the good thing most people thought, and Bridgefield getting boxed in all the way home.
Only small stakes, playing with what I've collected past two days. Unsure about tomorrow yet; looking forward to Saturday's Nassau though.
Fridays tips
14:00 Redwood
should've benefitted from run at Newmarket after a couple of months off, and can win this for the second year in a row. Jukebox Jury is a live danger though, but Redwood holds him through Afsare and holds Harris Tweed through Campanologist.
14:35 Western Aristocrat
was a strong finisher over 7f in the Jersey at Ascot and should have more to come after less than a handful of career starts. Won't have it easy but looks a very decent performer in the making.
15:10 Sagromor
won at Royal Ascot and looks to have more to come from the bottom of the weights and could be an E/W steal.
15:45 Harbour Watch
rated very highly by Hannon and Hughes and looks to have a good chance of following up.
16:20 Royal Blush
could be another E/W steal, should have more to offer now handicapping, starts on a decent mark and has a capable claimer on board. Would be a shorter price but yard are struggling a bit, not as many decent horses as they used to have now that the Hay's have taken all their horses out of the yard.
16:50 Perfect Tribute
with a lot of inconsistent/unreliable fillies in this race it may show a bit of value siding with this one, ground will be fine and this is her best trip after finding the soft ground and extra furlong too much at Chantilly last time.
17:25 Bravo King
looks a surefire improver in a trappy contest but may be worth the chance.
