Not a lot in the Prem yesterday other then the scousers battering of the Toon. Still cant believe Ashley gave Pardew 8 years off the back of a decent season

More excitement in the lower leagues particularly the ending to the Brentford v Donny game

Best thing about that is that at least he shouldn't be a part of transfer deadline day considering SSN don't give a flying monkey s***e what business the non-PL clubs get up to.

But saying that, no doubt they will still have a reporter there having made an exception for old melted candle face.

8 year contract or no 8 year contract, Pardew needs to go.

Looks like he's lost the respect of a majority of the senior players, as they're just going through the motions as if they're already on holiday - when they've got games left to play, massive games which will be the difference between relegation and survival. Pardew's tactics have also been terrible; Cabaye behind the front man? Sissoko on the wing? Jonas on the pitch?

No goals scored in the past two home league games and nine conceded. One decent half at WBA, and one crap one. One decent half out of the last 6 halves in the league, completely unacceptable.

I don't buy this "lost the dressing room" stuff that gets trotted out about managers.

If players have basically stopped trying because they don't like the person they are working for, then that's a problem in the character of the players rather than the manager.

Newcastle's problem is that they overachieved last year. On the back of that, Pardew has then gone out and spent money on some pretty mediocre players from what is - PSG apart - a pretty mediocre league. Not only do they appear to be technically and tactically suspect, but psychologically too. Debuchy's obvious attempts to get himself sent off at the weekend are a prime example.

Where Newcastle are in the league right now is probably 4-5 places below where you would expect that group of players to be, but that's all IMO. They're not a top six side by any stretch of the imagination, they probably don't have a single player that a top six club would want if they put them all on the list tomorrow.

Krul and maybe Cabaye, but that's about it. Ba's departure was a huge blow for them IMO, especially with Cisse's purple patch of last year looking more and more a freak run of form.

On Redknapp, if he manages to get most pf he mercenaries out and put a decent championship squad together while preparing QPR for the prem ala West Ham and Newcastle.... Id argue he would have done a good job tbh.
