Its a funny old game, isn't it. Twice Over was seemingly in the doldrums judging on his performances before he won at York last month.

Glad I didn't pile on Await The Dawn anyway. Was quite a muddling race I thought, Joseph seemed to have run out of ideas as he slowed him to a virtual crawl before saying 'go now', leaving Queally and Mongan stalking and able to pull the trigger whenever they wanted. Trying to turn a horse that can win over a longer trip (12f) into a sprint finisher is lunacy. Confident if he had pressed on that he would've finished 2nd in front of Midday and definitely gave Twice Over a few questions.

Debating whether to give Joseph O'Brien another chance in a group one race until he knows his job a bit better, his judging of pace is horrendous.

Snow Fairy doesn't go for the Oaks due to the ground - heads to France on Sunday.

The o@brien horses seemed to run very flat today. Did Furners Green go in the Stalls? Seville came there cruising and found nothing, Await the dawn did exactly the same. Both were very layable beforehand. Seville needs a trip on desparate ground, and AtD needs 12f and a jockey.

Still not too impressed with this years middle distance 3yos, and if Sea Moon is anywhere near evens, he will be lay material for the Leger. Race may come to soon, but saying that, he looks an exiciting prospect for next year. Another Pilsudski/ Singspiel. Possibly the best middle distance 3yo seen this season, if a line through Seville can be taken literally.

Wouldn't be sure about piling on Sea Moon for the Leger, he looks a serious horse but Rewilding hacked up in the Voltigeur last year before being found out on Town Moor.

Coolmore need a proper stable jockey like Murtagh was for them - badly.

Crown Dependancy @ 3/1 in the first

"Hughesie rides Crown Dependency, who will appreciate reverting to six furlongs, having found things happening a bit too fast for him over five in the Molecomb at Goodwood last time. He was staying on well at the finish and this trip is perfect for him"

Lashes again @ 10/1 EW now as I was tempted to back Snow Fairy, the jockey on the 2nd race said it was good safe ground and Fairy has won a Group 1 on good/yielding suprised they took her out.

Harrington wanted it not too firm and not too soft so good/soft with good in places should be perfect, Berry doesn't drop the whip and maybe she would be going into this a Group 1 winner, should be better for her first try at 12f.


Deauville Flyer in the last @ York is 8/1

Fallon booked it likes it round here having won twice over this trip and was 4th here last time in a Listed handicap, dropped here to a Class 3 off same mark.

Looking at it again it went the same route last year having come 3rd in the Listed handicap before going off in this @ 11/4 fav coming 7th

4 Places so taken the 8/1 EW

As for tomorrow, not too much to get excited about, but Vita Nova looks interesting in the oaks. 1st try in a group1, but was peeing all over a group 2 field lto at Haydock until the saddle slipped.

Looking forward to seeing Nationalism on friday.
