Re: Betting Chat : Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:31 pm
Hughes is on Census due to his loyalties to the Hannon camp. Census is a live threat to the favourite though. SMS wants rain to fall on Doncaster before Saturday. Can't see Seville winning, has no turn of foot whatsoever and, as John Gosden has said, a horse that hasn't got a turn of foot will probably be done for toe going for home or completely left out the back - stayer or non stayer. Make what you want of those stats but to say RVW and Cape Blanco aren't in the proven group 1 category is ridiculous. All horses take their racing differently. STS was a freak and just look at the International Twice Over won; only really had one opponent on the day.

At the minute for me, a no bet race. Not getting suckered in to the hype on the favourite like I did with Rewilding last year; according to some quarters he only had to turn up to win this, a mere racecourse gallop en-route to taking the Arc apparently. Will only back Sea Moon if I feel he has enough in his favour.

If Blue Bunting stays this extra 2f, she has Leger specialist Dettori on board, and will certainly not give in if it becomes a battle to the line. Masked Marvel could also have a big say, tough race to call.

Never said RVW and Cape Blanco were'nt in the group 1 class, said they were better horses than Sea Moon, who incidently, will make a better 4yo.
The main problem to me with Census, is Hannon's record in group 1s over distances further than a mile. Off the top of my head, possibly Right Win is the only group 1 middle distance winner, can't think of anymore.
The York stats are for 3yos+ only.

I can't think of very many decent middle distance horses the Hannon's have had since I've been a racing fan, certainly can't think of anything good enough to be talked up for a Classic (barring Guineas).

Not been on here much only had a couple of bets at weekend which was Dream Ahead and Snow Fairy to place.

One today.

Donny - 1.55 - Chachamaidee @ 7/2

Oxx horse is a big threat but watch the way this thing eased to win in a Group 3 last time, it couldn't of been more impressive.

The May Hill looks a cracker tomorrow. Regal Realm got Fortune out of a big hole at Sandown last time out and will be a big danger to the Gosden horse. She was put up on here as one to watch just before her debut, and Gosden often aims his best juvenile filly at this race.

Nice to see Ladbrokes are back on Oddschecker though it was pretty daft for them to leave there in the first place and I guess their return indicates they now realise that.

Re: Betting Chat : Fri Sep 09, 2011 2:54 pm
I had a bet on the Batley v Fax game last night. The bet was "Will any team score 3 unanswered tries?" I went for yes thinking that with the big slope at Mt Pleasant there was a decent chance of this happening. The extra information along with the bet was "Either team must score 3 tries in the game without the other team scoring a try in between. Penalty Tries count"

So when Fax came from 12 - 0 down to 14 - 24 up I thought I had won this bet, Fax having scored 4 unanswered tries with only a batley penalty in between. However Bet 365 have said that this is a losing bet and have taken the money I bet on this.

As far as I can tell the fact that 'Fax scored two tries, then Batley kicked a penalty, then 'Fax scored 2 more should mean that I won my bet, as the bet states no TRIES scored in between and nothing about Penalty conversions so as far as I can tell, the 2 pointer should not have nullified my bet.

Have I got it right and they have got it wrong, or am I missing something? I don't bet often so thought I would check on here to see what people think before I chase it up with Bet 365.

If it clearly states that it's only a try then you should of won.

I'd get onto them on the live chat help in the top corner.

I like the look of Blue Bunting for tomorrow. Frankie, self-admittedly, didn't have his finest few minutes at Epsom and for that she would of won every race she's ran since she broke her maiden. Nothing else in the race proven group one class. Sea Moon is the hype horse and certainly has to some quality opposition to fight off.
