1. If you don't run to the by-line and cross the ball, does that mean you are not a winger?
2. Where did I say that Robbie's natural position is as a 'winger'? I would be grateful if you could provide this. If not, will you please acknowledge this in your next post?
3. How often has he played in the following positions for City: left of a front three; left-wing; and as one of the front two?
4. Mascherano cannot pass or create anything. Does that mean he isn't a 'midfielder'?
What is 'FM09'? Sounds a bit scrotey to me.
BTW how many times have you watched Robbie this season? Not as often as I have.
Robihno has played as a trequartista, off the shoulder of the centre-half, left-wing and on the left of a front three.
Factually incorrect. He provides creativity out-wide too. Robihno has scored several times coming from the left and has produced assists from that position too.
Hang on.....have you actually seen him play? IMO he is best playing a free-role as part of a forward pairing.
Thanks for the sig
You see, apart from quoting me in your sig', your also looking back over my posts, and using what I've said to base your opinion of 'Robbie' (Are you Mark Hughes ??) on. I tell you that he plays best in a free role, d'nar ! A page or two later Enfield Exile uses the exact same phrase to 'Tell Me' where Robbie plays best. I guess I should take that as a compliment, especially as your a football guru who watches Robbie every week.
In simple terms for you, I've watched alot of Robinho, lots of him at Real too as I was interested in him since he was billed as something special when at Santos. (I know for you, Robinho has only existed since August 31st 2008 - But he did play before that, honestly). I've watched with interest where each & every manager has played him, as I've never been quite sure what he is, as you rightly say, is he left of a three ? Free Role ? A frontman ? A winger ? I think what he is, is a luxury. Somebody who if you have a side who can afford to have a bloke who'll find himself in pockets of space, play in behind either a frontman or two but will roam left, right & off the front, then he will influence the game. If you ask him to provide you with genuine width he offers you nothing, Ribery & Young do this role much, much better.
In a conversation about World Class wingers, you dismissed suggestions from another poster, who put forward Robben, Ronaldo, Ribery etc, and you dismissed them out of hand that they weren't a patch on 'Robbie' as you & Mark Hughes like to call him, you then in your post put something along the lines of "But he's at his best as a forward", which he is. But to dismiss the options like Ribery & Robben, you obviously feel he's the best winger in the world, as people have given you the candidates, and you've just dismissed them, ridiculously, out of hand, especially when everybody can see your being really, really daft.
Nobody is having a pop at 'Robbie', not me anyhow, I think he has ability, but he isn't a winger. Any of the initial names given to you, do a better job of that role than him, and Ashley Young does too.
I await your next response, calling me out like a wrestler. That's me done anyhow. I've got my opinions on Robinho, and thankfully folk on here seem to be on a similar trail of thought. Football is all about opinions, it's just difficult when you get folk who see things one eyed.
