I'm sure pretty much every Liverpool supporter would bite somebody's hand off if they came in with a £50m bid.
The funniest thing about Suarez leaving will be how soon the scouse supporters stop lying to themselves and everyone else about what a tool Suarez is and turn on him.
I'm not sure Brenton would accept 50m, but I reckon LFC would. LFC would want rid of the bad press. But I think Brenton would realise that Suarez might be the difference between him staying in a job and him getting canned. No matter how much scousers insist upon LFC's improvement under Brenton, he's pretty much similar to Dalglish in the league with a vastly inferior cup record. And that's with a fantastic season from the cheating Suarez (plus CFC's gift of Sturridge). Will Brenton be able to make up the losses of Suarez? I don't think so, and that means his job is significantly less secure.

You must be the most sad, bitter person I have ever seen on this forum, which is honestly one hell of an achievement.
Regardless of how it has been put forward, he does have a point.
Does he? Dalglish was pants in the league; how much did Dalglish spunk on Henderson, Downing and Carroll? How would Rodgers have done had he been able to spend £70m on three players? We might be about to find out, but I think he'd do a lot better.
Believe me, I'm no huge lover of Rodgers, he definitely has his flaws, but our points total improved despite not being able to p*ss money up the wall on players he actually wanted. Clearly, we're hugely reliant upon Suarez, but I don't believe for one minute Rodgers thinks he'd be out of the job if he lost Suarez. Football clubs move on, we'd do unbelievably well to keep hold of him, but I don't think it decides the fate of Rodgers. If Suarez left, how Rodgers spends the money and how he manages the team would decide his fate.
I won't turn on Suarez, I think he's a class player who f*cked up with the biting incident. He's not perfect, but so much of what he does is blown of proportion by idiots (take LGJM calling him 'the cheating Suarez' as a great example. Every player cheats) that seem to think he's the only player that cheats. If I had the choice of keeping him or £50m, I'd sooner keep him right now, simply because I don't believe the club could attract another player of his current ability, only his potential. We're not going to get anywhere by selling our best players, if we lose him Rodgers would have to sign some proven top level talent, as well as a couple of Coutinhos to make it 'worth it'.

You finished 8th in the league under Dalglish, while winning the FL Cup and reaching the FA Cup final.
You finished 7th in the league under Brenton, while getting knocked out of the cups by Oldham and Swansea.
The major difference between the 2011/12 season and the 2012/13 season is that Newcastle had a freakishly good season in Dalglish's season and they sucked in Brenton's season.

While Dalglish deserves to be condemned for the huge amount he spent on dross players, he also deserves praise for the excellent signing of Suarez. Brenton has been helped massively by what he did last season, and I don't think Brenton has the management skills to cope with his loss.
All I said was that Brenton would want to keep him, LFC might want to get shut and take the 50m.

He clearly isn't the only player who cheats. But he is up there among the worst cheats.
If the quotes are accurate and he does end up leaving for Real Madrid, you're still not going to turn on him??? WTFever.
If Liverpool could get that £50m and then snap up David Villa for £10m that'd give them £40m to splash on another forward and/or whatever they want. They've also got Carroll who could stay or go. That could be two first rate attacking players to replace one without spending any money.
Okay there's risk but, given that Suarez misses almost a quarter of the season at Liverpool, I'm sure most would roll the dice. They need at least one strong physical midfielder who is comfortable enough on the ball to fit into their system. Can't comment so much on their back four, but midfield and attack are short of at least two players in both areas. And I'm just talking first 11 there. They need three in each to really contend. I think part of the problem is that bridging that have to do between youth and experience i.e. they've got some good young kids and early 20s but need a couple of older heads too who know how to close up shop when they've not got the ball to make up for any tactical deficiencies Rodgers has.

Looking at the players Rodgers has signed, Coutinho apart, I would say they have been quite poor. Even Sturridge, who should have made a seamless transition to Liverpool hasn't reached the levels I expected him too. He hasn't played as consistently well as he did at Bolton, where he had a run of games.
What has he spent? Around £45 million? Not exactly inspiring return on the investment made to date.
I think it's a bit early to be writing off Sturridge as a bad buy. He'll have a proper off season to see how he can work him into the system. Dzecko was worse when he came in the transfer window. The next season he started like a house on fire and then Mancini rested him when he was on a hot streak and he couldn't catch that momentum again, although he's still scored goals, and important ones too

Seamless transition? He hadn't played for a couple of months, because he was "injured".
He scored 11 goals in 16 appearances (with 3 of those him being a sub). I don't know what exactly you were expecting from him, but 11 from 16 is an excellent return.
My main worry on behalf of Sturridge is that he does seem to pick up a lot of injuries.
