Just been bought tickets for the Thursday of the Grand National meeting. Treat.
Best of the three days too mate, excellent choice. You got tickets for a stand? I do the Thursday and Friday each year, the Friday's good but busy, Saturday is just manic but can't beat the Thursday.
The girlfriend ordered them for me and whoever I decide to take with me, as she's not fussed, so haven't actually seen any confirmation of anything but think they're for the Tattersalls Enclosure.
Was a really high class day on the Thursday this year so hoping it'll be similar next year.
One of my mates wants to do the Saturday as he can't get the Thursday off work. Looks like it'll be jolly ups on the Thursday and Saturday, with Friday slumped in front of a tv in a pub somewhere.
Thursday is by far the best day to go, decent sized but manageable crowd, most of which will be knowledgeable race-goers. Saturday is just a no-go, just organised chaos, whilst Women's day, I will never go again!! Bloody horrendous.
Fitness will win this so Berties Dream getting 6lbs and 10lbs from the main rivals will help alot, the fav Rigour Back Bob came 5th in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham, Berties Dream was 2 lengths behind in 6th but gets a massive 10lbs today.

You've picked the best day by far as Thursday has the best quality racing, a much more managable crowd and a much better atmosphere. Friday is busy, but a tradition, so I always go and Saturday is just stupid. It's massively overcrowded, the racing isn't the best and trying to put a bet on is just ridiculous.
Are we going to organise a meet up of some kind before Xmas as an "RLFans Betting Chat Raceday" somewhere. A track manageable for us all to get there easy enough, preference by train so can organise to meet up at a pub nearby first.

Whats Aintree like getting to in terms of public transport ? Ive driven there before but wouldnt know where to start in terms of trains / buses etc.. ?
