How desperate are the media for a London club in the final? The love in with Spurs this week, and tonight you'd think that the penalty was the only call the ref made! Was a nailed on pen like, but I believe the phrase is "swings and roundabouts"? B**locks. It was a penalty. Funny though.

Torres is a disgrace. 2 pathetic dives and he shouldve been off.

I thought your defenders were woeful with their challenges on Torres on the box.

I think Vidic dived in to put Torres off. Got nowhere near the ball. Went close to clipping Torres but didn't actually touch him. With the stuttering, out of touch form of Torres the presence of Vidic was enough for him to not make a decision but merely run the ball out of play for a goal kick. Nowhere near a blatant dive and only Ferdinand thought it was.

The second one there was contact between the defender and Torres. Not enough to warrant a pen for me but enough to say that it was a harsh card.

We'll agree to disagree fella. When you are looking for contact, you're asking for trouble. The 1st was worse than the second.

Just seen some shots of Evra on Ramieres. Initial contact looks to be outside the box. Academic now. Should've stayed on his feet.

I thought Drogba was awful. A handful yes, but a headless chicken. Constantly does too much, runs away from support and promising pieces of play fizzle out.

I know Torres is there to be mocked at the minute but I thought his performance was decent tonight. He worked hard, looked to link play and when Chelsea went 4-3-3 and runners went beyond him, I thought he looked threatening. He looks far more interested than he did towards the end of his time at Liverpool, he just needs that goal now.

I'm not sure what more Torres could have done tonight with limited service.

Essien has been the big disappointment for me this season, he seems to have lost that drive from midfield. Ramires looked far more impressive tonight and was unlucky not to be awarded a cast iron penalty.

Great result for United tonight. Just about deserved it, IMO. A brilliant counter attacking goal.

How much of a cheat is Torres. Absolutely shocking. It's no coincidence that we get a decent refereeing performance once we don't have a Chelsea/media loving twaat. It was a penalty though, glad it was and it wasn't given. Makes up for all the points they've stolen off us the past 18 months.

We're Man United, we'll do what we want.

If instead of stumbling over weakly, Torres had sliced the ball into the stand Vidic would've been praised for his presence putting off Torres. Surely his presence could have caused Torres to stumble in a similar way? There were no appeals from Torres or any Chelsea players.

I agree about the initial contact on Ramires being outside the box, but the contact continued while they were going in the box and so it was more than enough for a pen.

I agree with all of that. Especially the part about Essien, he was very disappointing tonight, although he wasn't on his own - Ashley Cole was awful. I thought it were a good, tidy victory for United (where they just about did enough and deserved the win). Chelsea lost their disclipine very early on mind. It will take a very good Chelsea performance to overcome this defecit at Old Trafford, that's for sure. I thought they missed Luiz's presence in the heart of defence tonight abit aswell. Big job now for Chelsea.

Agreed, Cole was poor as an attcking outlet, Bosingwa too - his delivery is terrible. It's a shame that Luiz is banned as it forces Carlo to play Bosingwa at RB - Chelsea always look stronger with Ivanovic at RB.

I think Drogba is finished. I don't say this lightly, I think it probably goes back to that Malaria that he got earlier in the season. I think Jimmy Greaves had something similar and never fully recovered, it sort of takes something out of your body. That's how I see Drogba now, he looks half a yard slow, not sharpness in a way like Torres has done at times or Rooney, hard to explain.

I take your point but he looked the most likely to get a goal.

he manufactured the contact - then threw himself to the floor, presumably booked for diving
