Is it true he substituted one of his substitutes? Credit to Liverpool on turning around their season like this, and as today shows, simply throwing money around is not a surefire way of buying enough class to compete at the top of the table. City still have some ways to go.

Except of course it is. Because City sit 4th in the league and in a Champions League spot as we speak. While also being in an FA Cup Semi-final.

Yes it is, but when said substitute is Mario Ballotelli, it suddenly doesn't become that hard to fathom. I'm no football expert (Bradford fan for my sins), but that boy is an absolute liability.

I do not for one second deny that it is a massive advantage but for the money city have spent they all too often go out with a whimper. They simply have not got the right combination for any consistancy. United have the least quality in that squad that they have had for quite some time but they are battlers. With the silly money thrown around at City you'd think they would have achieved more than being also rans.

Nice to see a bit of early return from Carroll. £35m for him doesn't look too bad when you compare it to the fees paid for Dzeko, Balo and Torres.

The difference being that money is no problem whatsoever to Chelsea or City. £50 million might as well be £10m or £100m.

I think he'll get goals for you, but as a footballer he is truely awful.
