I fancy France not to make it through the group stages. It's a tough group anyway and they seem to be at odds with each other.

FIFA's response is that he made an agreement to be at the opening ceremony and he better be there.

Doesn't sound like that to me. From the BBC Sport website

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has written to Nelson Mandela after the death of the former South African president's 13-year-old great-granddaughter in a car crash on Thursday. Blatter described it as "unspeakably tragic", but said Mandela will "be with us in spirit [for the opening ceremony and game] for which we are incredibly grateful."

That noise is quite annoying, but anything that drowns the sound of the commentators out is a bonus I guess
