Ground regulations posted at stadiums usually say that photos shouldn't be taken, and equipment can be confiscated, it rarely happens I'd say but for league and cup games you technically need a licence to take photos in stadiums, it might be fine in friendlies but it is easier to apply a consistent rule.
I had the old pitchside pass etc and im insured under the club, have to sign in etc before the game, i dont just take a camera to the ground in me pocket, but you're right, the fact that it's York in the Conference means there's a different ruling to that of Football League games. I don't think we can post them willy nilly if we were to ever return to league football but id have to check.
