Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.

knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

I totally agree, get it signed. I;m guessing alot of the premiership want him to sign it as well.

The form book since Kenny took over has Liverpool in third I think. I don't think that's bad going at all, given the squad he inherited and a bit of misfortune on the injury front. Knocks over the theory that Liverpool are no better than they were with Hodgson in charge.

Steve Claridge on the otherwise crap-anyway Football League Show. Gives rubbish footballing pundits such as Jamie Redknapp and Alan Shearer a bad name with his one eyed rubbish about Pompey and how Ricardo '4 red cards in 18 months' Rocha isn't a dirty player and didn't headbutt Boothroyd.

The man is a grade 1 pillock. Bring back Leroy!

Do you have access to the form table? It would make interesting reading.

This is not the form table but a top six mini league I found, however it's still quite interesting ( or not)

It show's who performs against the big boys. I think Liverpools downfall is against the teams towards the bottom. It seems Liverppol are missing a result.

Not too sure on the actual 'form table, but the difference in our results look like this: Hodgson: P20 W7 D4 L9 Pts25 GD-3. Under Dalglish: P13 W7 D3 L3 Pts24 GD+10.

As I've said before, Kenny probably won't be the man to lead us to prolonged success, I'd love it if he was, but it's just a purely, dispassionate view I hold. However, I do feel he's the man that will lay down the foundations; he'll put everybody on the same wave length, he'll unite supporters, allow the new owners to settle in and do their work behind the scenes, and he'll bring on young players into the senior squad. I'm not just saying that because a few young lads have played due to recent injuries, I do generally believe he holds the youth players in high regard.

Is the youth policy that Benitez set the foundations for starting to pay off then? Are these young lads any good.

I find those crediting Benitez for the youth policy already need to wake up. I've read into youth coaching and they generally measure things from the age of 12 and onwards, i.e. they will take a crop of 12 year olds and measure their progress up until the age of 18 or so. Benitez only took over the academy in 2009, he brought in some fantastic coaches, but the true fruits of their work won't be seen for a good 5-10 years. I'm sure you could throw some credit their way when you see players like Flanagan and Robinson in the team, but these players were at least 15 years old when Benitez took over the academy, not quite super raw, but well into their development and not at the start of the 'development cycle'.

Still, it's hard to tell how good young players are because it's unfair to measure them on current ability, especially when they're 17 or so. Flanagan has been solid since coming in, Robinson coped well yesterday and everybody seen how well Martin Kelly played when he came in. Spearing has been alright, but I feel his physical and technical limitations will never allow him to be a top drawer player. Still, Benitez deserves credit for appointing the right men to run the academy, but the majority of the credit should go to Pep Segura and co., as well as the players, obviously.
