Apart from Moyes, I'm struggling to see any of these equally talented domestically based managers.

Mancini has won an FA Cup and a league title for Citeh. I'd suggest they are quite happy with their appointment of that plank.

I personally think you could swap a Moyes/Martinez/Rodgers for a Benitez/Mancini and you would get identical, if not better results.

Seems to me that billionaire owners just want the glamour of paying big bucks for over rated foreign managers, than save a few quid on less famous and hype-free coaches.

First of all, Benitez at CFC is wrong. It should have never happened, but it is just a temporary job to supposedly make sure we qualify for the CL.

But, if you want to compare CV's, Benitez pees all over the combined CV's of Moyes, Martinez and Rodgers.

Moyes probably has done enough to earn a shot at one of the top clubs. But he's not worth a £10/20m punt, which is what Everton would probably be asking for if a top club did want to talk with him. IMO he needs to do an Allardyce and leave Everton so that a bigger offer can present itself. His record isn't so good that he demands to be the next manager at Citeh/United/Chelsea so he really needs to be pushing himself into getting one of those jobs.

Martinez deserves a promotion over the Wigan job. Rodgers has been over promoted and got a bigger job than he deserves, and time will tell if he can prove himself up to it.

You yourself should know that judging Moyes is particularly challenging. You all raise the same questions whenever people ask. They usually include:

How good is he with a lot of money?
Can he sign the necessary strikers?
Is he too negative at times? I remember when you all used to plead for him to play two up top but he'd end up playing one with Phil Neville and Osman in midfield.
At Everton, he's boss and everybody knows it. What happens when he walks into a changing room with egos like Terry, Drogba, etc.?
He doesn't have experience of the Champions League
He doesn't have experience managing a team that are favourites every game
He's very 'deep' about his scouting and spends a lot of time casting his eye over players, could he adjust if somebody else was to sign his players?

Put it this way: I don't think Moyes could have won the league with Valencia, I don't think he'd have won the CL with Liverpool and I definitely don't believe he'd have kept us in the top 4 for as long as Rafa did. I imagine you and the majority on here will say Moyes is better than Rafa, but I really haven't seen enough from Moyes so far to confirm that. Maybe when/if he gets a top job he will, but I can't see him getting any of the 'big three' jobs.

we talk about 'goal of the season' or 'save of the season' etc but how about 'pass of the season' ?

yesterdays flick from Ashley Young back to to Evra to feed the easy tap in by Rooney has to be the 'pass of the season' surely ? ansolutely brilliant IMO

good reffing performance from Mr Halsey too

Went to the city v Everton game yesterday. I have to say, the atmosphere was non existent. The everton fans made more noise than the johnny come lately city fans.

Havent seen much of everton play this season but wow! What has happened to them? They pass the ball around like Barcelona. Liverpool could learn something from watching their more illustrious neighbours instead of hoofing the ball to gerrard or the diver.

Pretty much the same as at every single PL ground in the country then.

He's tactically non-existent. He just sits there smugly waiting for the quality of the players he has in his team to prove too much for the opposition. Whenever it doesn't, he looks and sounds morally wounded.

Makes a change for mancini to be criticised for sitting on his hands. Usually its that he messes the team around too much and confuses the players.

Yesterday was the first game i can remember since he's been at the club that he made 3 like for like substitutions. We usually get through at least 3 different formations in 90 mins.

Where's the national outrage about goal-line technology after Utd were denied a clear goal yesterday?
