United are *apparently* paid £23m by Nike, just so Nike can make their kits. Warrior will be paying us more than that, but then you wonder how long do United have left on their deal with Nike. I don't think Adidas were paying us enough, but United will probably better our deal if they are renewing soon.

But still, £25m is a cracking deal. Looks like club is moving in right direction, at least in some departments.

By the way, is Dani Pacheco on loan at Norwich? Noticed he came off the bench to score last night.

It is, I'm not sure if the record is worldwide or just in Britain, but it still exceeds the dross Rick Parry had us earning.

I think this deal has something to do with the New Balance connection. If you look at how some things have panned out, like LeBron James getting a minor share, it's clear they try and cut deals using all of their assets. So it wouldn't surprise me if, when the Red Sox signed their big deal with New Balance, NESV also got in there and got Liverpool in there getting a big deal.

When I see us getting big sponsorship deals like this, it makes the prospect of building a new stadium believable, IMO, as it seems we are an even bigger prospect to investors than I first thought.

As for the Utd deal nike paid £122m for the first 6 years then upped at an agred price of £303m untill 2013 which is £23.3m per season. Unfortunately Old Trafford holds around 30k more seats than Anfield that is the gap your club need too fill and yes you need a new stadium but how much woud that cost to build? Would it be long term meaning an extended period without success (maybe surpassing the 26 year mark) or short term with the fan being priced out to cover the costs ala Arsenal (yes i know they haven't won anything)?

As for the reds how does everyone feel about the Glazers lowering the ticket prices for the Tampabay Bucs by 30% because of the ressesion? Lucky that the Bucs have the Wembley gae this year so can see one hell of a protest at that game

I'm all for the anti-glazer push, but to protest at an NFL game is a bit lame IMO. Why potentially spoil the day for thousands of fans who are out to enjoy an occasion that they don't get to see too often.

Probably because The Bucs can't fill the stadium. They had an average home attendance last season of 49,314 (75.1% of capacity) which is the second worst in the league.

I wouldn't know but I presume there is no problem in filling Old Trafford? I'm sure if they couldn't then they'd reduce prices there too.
