had far too many seconds this week. having a break for a while now before i give back all that i won in the run up to christmas.

walsh should've made the running on thousand stars, a horse that gets further than this no bother. up against specialist grade one two milers he will get done for toe every time, so to be so close to unaccompanied was bemusing. if he'd went off in front then the result may of been different. unless they wanted to see if he could quicken in CH fashion in case HF misses it, in which case there wasnt a dickie bird said to potential punters.

while he is a tremendous jockey, walsh seems to avoid flack for poor rides purely because of his reputation.

seems like a good few of mullins string are running a bit flat, hasn't had a great time of it during the leopardstown christmas meeting, either slight problem going around the yard or he is merely easing things down for a couple of week before full speed ahead for cheltenham.

mikael d'haguenet could be another odds on loser for the mullins yard. should win readily as his main rival has been off for a while, but hanlon is a notorious gambling yard and he knows how to get one ready.

would love to know what avenging ace and elton fox were trading at in-running - maguire motionless and his horse jumping like a dream, elton fox being shaken up and ridden a good way out.

mikael won readily, had to back him when he went to 1/2. the hanlon horse drifted near the off which is sometimes significant towards a horse that hasnt ran for ages.

went stone dead on here lately, wonder where the old faces have been hiding for the past 3 weeks.

had no bet on the race but would've been interesting to see where minella class finished had david bass not been unseated, was travelling as strongly as anything else in the race, walkon's jumping fell to bits late on, for non stop didn't get going til after the last fence, so minella class could've been the one to give cue card most to do.
