had far too many seconds this week. having a break for a while now before i give back all that i won in the run up to christmas.walsh should've made the running on thousand stars, a horse that gets further than this no bother. up against specialist grade one two milers he will get done for toe every time, so to be so close to unaccompanied was bemusing. if he'd went off in front then the result may of been different. unless they wanted to see if he could quicken in CH fashion in case HF misses it, in which case there wasnt a dickie bird said to potential punters.
while he is a tremendous jockey, walsh seems to avoid flack for poor rides purely because of his reputation.
seems like a good few of mullins string are running a bit flat, hasn't had a great time of it during the leopardstown christmas meeting, either slight problem going around the yard or he is merely easing things down for a couple of week before full speed ahead for cheltenham.
