Di Caneo has done a real number on them, even the most experienced manager will have a job on his hands.
Management by hand grenade, just who the f*ck did di caneo think he was?
Sunderland were a shambles before Di Canio. They were a bigger shambles with him, but they stayed up. They were still a shambles this season, so they got rid.
Di Canio was just a shambolic appointment by a shambolic club.
It's a tough job, but it's nearly a full season in the Premier League with virtually none of the blame if/when they go down.
I think Di Matteo or Poyet would take the job because a bad job in the PL is better than no job. Zola I'm 50/50 on. He's got Watford doing okay so it might not be worth walking away from that for another hit in the PL. But if he stayed at Watford he might never get another PL job again.

Not sure but he knows what he won't be for quite a while...............a PL football manager (well, unless he brings up a Championship team). Current vacancy at Derby, but I've heard that Tony Pulis is currently the front runner. Unlucky Derby lol.
Not a chance any PL team will take a punt on him after what's happened this season. His best bet is to go back down a few divisions where, to be honest, no-one really gives a crap about what his management style is like because he won't get as much air time as he did when he was in the Premier League.

Ellis Short needs to be punched in the face for appointing Di Canio. And if he doesn't appoint Di Matteo, he needs a further punch in the face. Di Matteo will unite the squad, get them playing football. Poyet would be a decent appointment too, but Di Matteo has the CL win on his CV so it would be seen as a coup for Sunderland.
Either way, both are a much better appointment than Di Canio ever would be.

While it was crazy to appoint a loon like Di Canio, it was better to appoint him and stay in the PL than it would have been to let Martin O'Neill take them down.
I liked nearly everything Roberto Di Matteo said while he was Chelsea boss. He didn't engage in mind games, he didn't blame refs even when we were on the end of bad decisions, he pretty much just played everything with a straight bat.
I don't know if Sunderland can be saved, but I think RDM has the right personality to get all the players focused on staying up, and if they don't manage it at least going down with the dignity of giving your best rather than being berated like they would under PDC.
Poyet I also retain affection for. But personally I just cannot stand his accent. His exit at Brighton was just plain weird and then there's his sympathising for Suarez. Add on his Tottenham badge kissing and I'm hoping he gets the job and takes Sunderland down real quick.
David moyes says his side lack the world class players to win the champions league.
More good 'game' from moyes in the press. Hopeless.
Especially silly after they got huffy with criticism after the transfer window, saying that they achieved everything they set out for. So he's effectively admitted one of 3 possible situations:
1. They were badly wrong then and now realise that; 2. They were full of it then, they knew they needed more and didn't bother/made a mess of it; 3. They consciously accepted not seriously competing for the champions league this season.

I just think it's a crazy thing to say when you are manager at a club like united. It smacks of getting excuses in and trying to lower expectation, but at a club as big as that you never publicley admit weakness.
It's another massive press blunder up there with ''we'll need rooney if van persie get's injured''.

He's 100% right on that. How many would you get to? Van Persie and Rooney for me. Are any of the others even approaching the quality that teams like Barca, Madrid, Bayern have?
It was always going to be a hard landing for whoever came in after Fergie, they were always likely to be a sacrificial lamb. United have serious problems right through their side. They have no left back, Evra is terrible, the two at centre back are getting to the end of their careers and they simply have nothing of a creative nature in midfield. Everyone cried for Kagawa to play at the start of the season, but United have been worse since he has and he's done nothing.
United were no better last season. They just had RVP bang on form saving them week after week by scoring with pretty much every chance he got.

Finally, a role that Moyes looks good at.
Joking aside, CS nailed it. If Man United are so weak right now then why was he whining about the bad press when everyone was laughing at United because they'd done nothing but get done over for Fellaini?
I've said it plenty of times. United were an ordinary side last season propelled by Fergie to amazing heights. But it wasn't just last season though. The season before they matched Man City even though they were much weaker.
If Moyes wants to start down the "Fergie shafted me with this squad" road, he might as well just quit now.

But they are still currently the best pairing in the league and one of the best in Europe. Whatever problems they do have at the moment, centre back is not one of them.
Just seen Mourinho's press conference and normally I would say what a f****g idiot for walking out like a spoilt brat, but to be honest, I kind of agree with him.
The press have been going on and on about Mata, about why he isn't being picked, if there is some kind of issue between them both, and now that he's been picked in the squad, they now decide to ask why De Bruyne is not playing and if there is some issue between him and Jose.
They don't half ask some stupid questions, but then again it's the press, they are all dumb s**ts.
