The value of finishing top of your group writ large over that draw.
It does when 3 other clubs from the same country also qualify.
Playing the first leg at home significantly increase the level of difficulty for City. The Aguero injury will not help City's league challenge but the silver lining could be that it will force Pellegrini to develop a system with Silva or Nasri playing behind a single striker that might work better in the CL.
United not as bad as people think this year, we're a couple of last minute goals away from being right up there, we will still finish 3rd. Arsenal and Liverpool poo their pants against decent sides. I've been proved correct about Joe Hart being poop, nobody listened. Suarez is unplayable at times this season, I still want to see him dominate a big game against quality opposition before being totally sold, spanking loads past pub teams doesn't do it for me. I expect he will get his chance when he leaves in the summer.

.... Jesus, using that logic most clubs could claim to be close to being Top 4 material!!
What 'last minute goals' are they that you talk about, because I'm struggling to see??.... Most of your defeats and poor performances have come about, not through any bad luck, but mainly because opposing sides have sussed out that you are a pretty average side and if they get at you, then they will stand a good chance of getting something out of a game with you.
I agree that you still have a chance of finishing third, but only because the league itself is so open this year, because of this you probably have as good a chance of finishing sixth or seventh too - You are certainly not a bad side, but you have definitely dropped back to the chasing pack who have been in your wake for most of the last 20 years.

Only the Cardiff & Southampton goals, we've been soundly beaten in the defeats we've had. Not that far away.

What, like Ronaldo did in his time at United? I don't remember him beating one of our full backs, never mind dominating a game. Similarly, Rooney saved his best ever performance against us for this year's league cup, he's been dross against us for a long time. Same against Everton.
Suarez has been class all season, the forward position is the hardest position to 'dominate' IMO because you're reliant upon team mates getting the ball up to you in decent positions. He's been lethal all year, he's done it on the international stage and he's backing up superb play with end product.

Rooney has scored winner at Anfield and dominated that game, similary at Goodison, he also dominated against the Arsenal invincible side at the tender age of 19, at City and Chelsea last year, also in the San Siro. Ronaldo has been the diiference in champions league semi's and finals, and dragged us to a title single handed in 2007, being the difference in HUGE games down the stretch. Gerrard has been nothing but money in big games, Suarez not at all yet. The chance will come over the next three weeks though.

Suarez can score a bucket load for all I care providing he has a dry spell in June
Since Liverpool turned the corner, this thread has gone so quiet! Last season and the season before that and the season before that etc etc you had manchester united fans, chelsea fans and city (LOL) fans, sticking their oar in, every week about how poor liverpool were. Maybe now they can actually concentrate on supporting their own teams rather than knocking liverpool.
Obviously, it was the money I invested into Liverpool that helped.
Whos this clown called Mark and what is his problem? United arent as bad as people make out? Is he blind? Does he know anything about football or is he one of the 10 million manchester soccer fans who claim they go to old trafford every week? Ray Allen is a bit like that. He went to a manchester united soccer game once and claims hes now a proper fan.
