You're not that far away. But as a City fan I'm not that unhappy if United have a few wins, if players like Young and Welbeck score now and then. It makes it a little bit more likely that United will stick with the existing players, wait until summer to overhaul the squad.

How good are Everton? Brilliant to see Cafu Coleman rifle another wondergoal in and Ross Barkley just oozes class. Anyone know what caused him to shave all his hair off however?

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

They are doing well, its just a shame that the squad is so lacking in depth, otherwise they could be a serious challenger for the title.

Its definitely City's for losing - They are head and shoulders above the rest of the league. If they can stop having silly results away from home, then I'd expect them to pull away during the New Year, leaving a decent fight for those sides between 2nd and 8th.

Personally, I think it will end up looking something like this...

1 Man City
2 Chelsea
3 Liverpool
4 Man Utd
5 Arsenal
6 Everton
7 Spurs
8 Newcastle

There's always something reassuring about winning without playing all that well.

City's big weakness is that we've only got half a back four. Kompany is world class and Zabaleta is excellent. Nastasic is potentially top class but not yet. The rest could survive in Mancini's more defensive system but are too easily exposed in a more attacking line up.

I hate to bring up decisions, but that offside is just jaw dropping. I thought City started really well and began to expose our left flank, then before I knew it we were rolling and well on top. The second goal was the killer blow because of when and how it happened. Suarez, despite being relatively quiet, was still our best offensive threat and created some superb chances. Our biggest weakness today was in midfield, I didn't think Fernandinho or Toure done all that much, Henderson was wasteful and Allen fairly anonymous. Lucas remains a 6 or 7/10 player. Despite their recent form, our midfield really does lack in that overall class offensively, there's energy, movement and a lot of qualities, but we really lack a true offensive threat in the middle of the pitch.

Can't really argue about the "offside". Thought Sterling's miss was crucial.

Ironically Liverpool probably did City a favour, made us work really hard for the win and emphasised some defensive weaknesses that still need sorting.

Are footballers and football clubs so precious nowadays that they can't take the ref giving them a bit of stick back? Players are constantly giving abuse out. I've always thought it would be good for the game if refs could give it back, for example;

"had a good red last night, Wayne, was as old as the slappers you used to visit"

"oi, John, I'm Reffing the game, not you, oh by the way, your dad's a dealer"

Surely there's a nursery school in Manchester that can teach Pellegrini about these pesky number things?

Does the manager operate the numbers board?

Although there might be a nursery school pupil that could tell him not to play Dzeko and Negredo together.
