What does "make a game of it" mean?

With the attacking talent Guardiola had at his disposal he managed to deliver pretty much **** all until the ref helped him out.

Despite what Mourinho said, I don't think he'll see the tie as being over. It is a mammoth task, but I still think he'll be going into the game with plans to win the tie. But because of that Real won't be able to go all out attack as doing that would offer Barca too many chances to catch them on the break and end the tie.

Even if Real go out of the CL with a whimper this season a fair judge wouldn't hold that against Mourinho too much. After all, in Inter's first season they went out to Man United in a very disappointing manner. And the next year they won the thing.

In many ways I do think Barca's ideals may be tested. They are touted as being the best side in the world and touted as playing great football all the time. So, being 2-0 up from the away leg, are they going to put on a feast of football for their fans to celebrate another CL final, or are they going to be professional and do everything they can to kill the game?

Yellow cards don't work if you don't use them.

One of the major issues with Wednesday's game was the constant harassment of the referee to book opposition players. THAT IS A YELLOW CARD OFFENCE. Did he produce any yellow cards for that offence? No, he didn't.

If he had done his job and booked players for diving and booked players for telling him which opponent needed to be booked then he wouldn't have been faced with pretty much the whole Barca team surrounding him over a 50/50 ball which the Madrid player won.

It's an utterly stupid instruction to tell refs "if yellow cards don't work try a red". And I'd question whether such sentiments would be expressed had it been a Barca player who received it rather than a Real Madrid one. Yellow card offences should be met with yellow cards. Red card offences should be met with red cards. You don't suddenly decide to randomly throw in a red card because yellow's supposedly aren't working.

People may not like Warnock, but when it comes to promotion, you can't really knock him. He's led Scarborough, Notts County (twice), Hudderfield, Plymouth, Sheffield United, and now, unless they recieve a big point deduction, QPR. His CV in coaching Championship or below sides is pretty fine.

It means will he actually send his team out to play football rather than stifle, play act, bitch, whinge and moan their way through 90 minutes. I appreciate that Barca were just as bad for the most part with the play acting and moaning but they were at least taking the game to Real and trying to make a football match out of it. Mourinho only has himself to blame over the sending off you live by the sword you die by the sword.

Take a look at the match stats t'old pal. Chances were even and probably in Real's favour when the sending off happened. Fouls committed is an interesting one as well. Real were spoiling the game yet conceded 4 less fouls. Interesting, very interesting :SHHH:

his game plan wasn't to attack RM - it was obviously to keep RM out and maybe grab the away goal.Guardiola got it right on the night - Barça took their chances when they came so Guardiolas plan worked to perfection.

José doesn't have a choice - they will go all out attack if only to restore some pride - the tie isn't over by any means - unfoortunately ,as we saw with Chelski & Inter,Josés style of play isn't conducive to attack so it will b tough for him to change his philosophy against Barça.

Even if Real go out of the CL with a whimper this season a fair judge wouldn't hold that against Mourinho too much. After all, in Inter's first season they went out to Man United in a very disappointing manner. And the next year they won the thing.

difficult to criticise his acheivements - just a pity his teams aren't more entertaining.

Guardiola will be cautious - he's a shrewd coach,he knows he has the power to attack on the counter as they proved in the first leg - i'm going for another 2 - 0 victory.

No, I believe he had a Wenger moment when that happened.
