Felt for Shawcross, no malice whatsoever in that challenge. Terrible blow for Ramsay though, hope he recovers.

Absolutely spot on.

Because he's a fecking moron, not to mention a tit.

From watching the replay on youtube and the photo that is doing the rounds, iit looks like his leg is already broken before Shawcross touches him

I know what you mean but don't think it was, I think he had his ankle turned whilst trying to pass the ball and that's when the tackle came in hence the damage that was done. That was my take anyway.

The severity of the tackle is obviously arguable, but that's a ludicrous suggestion IMO. Given the circumstances I think the ref would look a little stupid if he were to rescind the red card.

Just from this thread, about 8/10 people think that it wasn't a red card offence.

You think it was a red card offence just because the outcome was a broken leg.

IMO the ref would come out of it fine if he was to look at the incident again and admitted that he over-reacted to the incident based upon the broken leg of Ramsey.

IMO he'd look far more stupid if he was to insist that it was a valid red card when watching it back on the video. It isn't. Only you and Arsene Wenger think it was.

Re: Even More Football Chat : Sun Feb 28, 2010 1:45 pm
I've seen the tackle about 20 times now and don't think it was that bad of a tackle, you see tackles like that in every game be it on the park or in front of 70 thousand, the only reason Shawcross got the red card was because of the injury Ramsey suffered. If he hadn't broke his leg it would have been a free kick and maybe a booking at worst imo Ballacks second yellow was a far worse challenge and deserved a straight red.

I've seen a few pictures now and in a couple it does look like Ramseys leg could be broke before contact with Shawcross :?

On a side note, does anyone know what treatment Wenger has had to improve his eyesight?
