I agree he has done a fine job....However, he has done so without any expectation whatsoever. His only task, when he took over, was to make sure the totally impossible didn't happen, and that relegation was avoided.

Considering that was never, ever going to happen, then the real test for Dalglish begins in August, when he has to mount a serious challenge for the top 4 and further trophies....I'm still in the camp that believes Liverpool actually need a fresh break from the past, but seeing as Kenny has done such a good job so far, then that is unlikely to happen just yet.

One thing is for certain, once the press get a chance to sink their claws into Dalglish, for whatever reason, then that is when the true test of his resolve and abilities as a modern day manager will be tested.

If Utd lose today then it's way too close for comfort, hopefully they way we have been playing we should come through, too tight now though!

On the rumours front Utd linked with Sneijder and Sanchez again.

As good as a player Sneijder is i don't see where he would fit into the team as imo Rooney is developing his game by dropping into that deeper role and ocupying the space Sneijder would normally play in I think a left sided player is a must but we need a proper defensive midfeilder to replace Hargreaves, Paul Pogba looks like he's the type of player that could fill the role but next season may be just too soon for him.

I watched the Barcelona defeat to Sociadad this morning. Is anyone else slightly dubious about the winner?

If you've not watched it, the goal featured Pinto the reserve keeper for Barca insisting on playing the ball short to his right back. The right back was being marked tightly so could do nothing but pass it straight back. They did this until Pinto was passing it 4 yards almost directly along the dead ball line just so he could pass it to him. The left back was open, midfielders were open and he could have played it long.

It got to the point of being ridiculous and they played it into space right on the corner of the box. Stupid pass after several other stupid passes. It was then picked up by a Sociadad player who passed it into the box and they rather deliberately took the striker down for a penalty.

The penalty was then the worst attempt at a penalty ever. He was in two minds between blasting and placing it and ended just side footing it slowly at the keeper. Rather than just pick it up Pinto stepped out of the way and put a hand down and let it roll in. There then followed 2 or 3 minutes of over exagerrated 'woe is me' behaviour from Pinto and the other players involved. Pinto bit chunks out of his gloves and was punching himself in the head. The other players theatrically gazing and gesturing to the heavens. All rather bizarre.

Pretty woeful from United today, offered nothing, deserved win for Arsenal, but can see why their fans get frustrated, they don't want to shoot unless they're within 6 yards of the goal. Vidic got away with a blatant handball which denied Arsenal a pen, but Clichy quite blatantly scraped his boot down Owen's calf in the penalty area too, so one pen denied each. Game on for next week, it would crush me if Chelsea win the league from here, cannot stand them in the slightest
