Sadly I've just seen that and was about to post;

Eye witnesses reveal two Liverpool fans called Tom Adeyemi a "f***ing black b***ard". Both men were restrained and arrested.
Senior Liverpool figure - "We'll do everything in our power to investigate the matter and ensure appropriate action is taken." (The Mirror)

I really, really hope this is all a misunderstanding.
It's sad that comments made by a few fans could taint the reputation of every respectable Liverpool fan in the crowd. Terrible timing, too.

Liverpool are such a scummy club. They would back their own players if they ate children.

The whole club and it's victim mentality must take some responsibility for this happening. If they had acted with even a shred of class or decency they would have severely reprimanded Suarez, publically denounced his actions and forced him to apologise fully weeks ago. He wouldn't have been banned for as long and it would have been the right reaction. The whole mard reaction to Suarez being found guilty and the character assassination of Evra was disgraceful. Football and society in general has enough problems with racism without leading clubs suggesting being racist is the action of a hero.

I'll bet there are a few decent Liverpool fans who are thoroughly ashamed of the club at the moment.

From what I have been reading on Twitter, the Mirror are talking out of their backsides.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

The whole United/Rooney thing is a classic example of today's 'career' footballer, or 'mercenaries' to more cynical types.

Let's face it, after last October's fall-out, which coincidentally resulted in him getting a huge pay rise, it became crystal clear that Rooney is at United for one thing - Money.

The thing is with Rooney is that everybody knows his true love is Everton.....If football was salary-capped and Everton were paying similar rates to United, then Rooney would still be there.

The United/Rooney relationship is a massive convenience for both parties.....Rooney earns big cash, United get a top-class player - Yes, that's football and Rooney isn't the first and won't be the last to be in it for the cash, but let's not get all shocked when these stories of fall-outs and demands to leave surface on regular occasions....Its all probably agents at work.

Ollie Holt has said that it's been confirmed that there was a racial element, but then again he works for the Mirror.

I think I am going to wait until I hear official word from the club. Either way, whether it be a coin thrown, bad language thrown or even racist language, yet again we're having to talk about the conduct of knuckle dragging neanderthals that I have to share my support of LFC with, and I am getting sick to death of it now.

My club's name is now mud, and while that will excite and make the Everton, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea fans (everywhere and on here) very happy indeed, I personally don't give a rat's booty what people say. I will defend LFC when the time is right and whether the situation calls for it. However, these recent situations, I will not defend them.

I think the pressure of being a top professional shouldn't be underestimated either. You cannot move or do anything without the most intensive personal invasion. Then you've got your agents, business advisors, PR teams etc, who are not earning money if you aren't in the headlines. Agents in particular do not earn money whilst you are serving year after year of a long contract. So they'll bitch, moan, and try to drive a wedge between a player and his manager/club. If they can engineer a move or a contract renewal they will gladly, even if the player was perfectly happy.

I just can't see what benefit selling Rooney would be to United. It's not like they couldn't raise the money to sign players and they won't find anyone as good as him for realistic money. Ferguson is just being ridiculously stubborn, a trait shown by many a previously successful manager once they get older. Arsene Wenger is another classic example, he's been a decent keeper and a couple of decent defensive players away from the title for years but wouldn't do anything about it and Ferguson is the same. He can see his midfield is like a bowl of jelly and could go sign a Di Rossi and a Rodwell to bolster it, but that would be doing what the press have suggested, which is something he won't do.
