My picks for York today would be:
Fencing e/w 5/1 could be a bit of e/w thievery. Ernest Hemingway could prove anything, Bonfire is a swerve IMO due to the way the racing media and bookies have been focusing on him, Mandean may need this run to set him up for Epsom and Ektihaam will have his work cut out to win again here as it looks much stronger than his last race. Ptolemaic could outrun his huge odds and might be worth a look in the 3 places on Betfar, he hasn't been disgraced in either of his two runs this season and will appreciate the trip.
EDIT: forget about the place market on BF, it is only 2 places. Weird as sometimes you can get 3 places in fairly small fields.Sajjhaa e/w 5/1 she looked to have a bit to find with Izzi Top but could prove another piece of e/w thievery as she goes well at the track and also goes well first time out, she won a listed race here last season and also ran the top class Midday close in this race 12 months back. Timepiece is a bit overrated IMO, her Falmouth win stands in isolation from most of her other form and that may just have been the day it all went right for her. Set To Music will need to step up again to win this, and I'm a Dreamer is very consistent and should run well if race fit.
Pearl Secret should win this. Frank surely can't get the best horse in the race boxed in against 5 opponents over 5f. David Barron has been waxing lyrical about this one and had a group one entry during the summer. Only negative is that there are a few fillies in the race, any of them in season and this rascal may forget what he's there for
would want to see them go to the start and see how he looks before backing a Spencer odds-on shot.
