They would be mad not to take it, a 1st rounder that could potentially turn out to be a great player/swap for more picks to bolster their squad or a player that will never play for them again sat on his arris at home!

Trent Richardson would be a good option too, #1 might be a bit high for him but Manning (if he ever plays again) with a passing game and a viable run game? Now that is scary.

New rumour doing the rounds is Palmer to the Raiders for 2 1st rounders, whoever started that must be on the cooking sherry a little too early

Edit: Just seen this on Adam Schefters twitter "Carson Palmer to the Raiders now official. Compensation expected to be a 1 in 2012 and a conditional 1 in 2013"

And we all thought it was Al Davis that was the mad one all these years

I believe it's called 'putting all their eggs in one basket'.

Even if Palmer turns out to be a great QB for them surely he isn't ready to start right away after being away from the game for a fair bit?

You can't have been very confident of his return if you released him?

The Raiders 2012 draft looks like this at the moment:
1 - Bengals
2 - Pats
3 - Used for Pryor
4 - Redskins (For Campbell)
5 -
6 -
7 - Seahawks (Curry)

Awful, awful trade for them especially when he's had no training since last season. They are decent this year but this will be as good as they get with no decent picks next year. They have lost their 1st, 3rd and 4th rounders for 3 QBs. The spirit of Al Davis lives on.
