That was a brilliant season in some ways for us, but, also a disappointing one, as we pushed you so close and should of won it. We were so consistent that season and we were doing the sort of stuff that United seem to do on many occasions, scoring winners late on, coming from behind to win on several occasions.
Highlights from that season were, Man City away at Eastlands, we were 2-0 down at half-time and looked dead and buried. We went on to score three second half goals and finally win the match 2-3. The demoltion of Newcastle at St James Park 5-1 will always stick in my memory as we just seemed to do everything right that day, and everything we tried came off. Portsmouth away, we were 2-1 down with 80 minutes on the clock, Kuyt equalised until Torres scored the winner in stoppage time.
The togetherness in the team during that year was fantastic. Everyone was working for each other and we were very unlucky not to win it. I also read somewhere that, 86 (our total number of points we finished on) was the highest total not to go to the PL winning side.
