Its not Liverpool winning the title that is the problem for me, its going to be the wave of 'They Did It For The Hillsborough Victims' we are bound to be overwhelmed with by our gormless media.

They have been the best team and will deserve the title, but please let's not go overboard with the self-pitying stuff that's bound to be latched onto it.

You can't really blame the media for that when both Gerrard and Brendan stated in the post match interviews that they were inspired by the words of the victims families.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

 ...... And I bet the interviewers(s) never guided the questioning towards a Hillsborough-influenced answer??

So steven/brendan, did the anniversary of hillsborough spur you on in todays victory?

Hardly going to say no are they?

The only reason they look up to you is because they chose to kneel.

I hope that the media go with the 'this is a massive victory for football route'.
IF they do hold on, they did it without spending anywhere near as much as their rivals and they did it playing brilliant football, they've been a joy to watch this season.
It would sure as hell pish those mancs off as well, I reckon

Exactly, that's my point - Its journalism at its laziest..... Its not like this will be Liverpool's first title since the Hillsborough tragedy either.

They should stick to the football, which has been top notch, instead of this ridiculous media-driven campaign to give every single person associated with LFC some sort of sainthood, as the whitest-than-white football people in the whole wide world.

Rodgers has perfected that LFC manager perma-scowl, the one that says "we're hard done to, we have been hard done to, this club has had a lot of adversity but we come through it". Was there anything last year about Bradford getting to the League Cup final for the victims of the Valley Parade fire? I never saw it. I think the country as a whole has become engrossed in grief-mongering, but LFC have just perfected it to the Nth degree. And don't get me started on fans who end every forum post or tweet with #JFT96 or #YNWA. ugh.
