For all of Bill Kenwright's inability in financing our club, in this day and age, I think Evertonians can have a little pride in the fact that they have an owner who at least realises the importance of a club to its fans and don't have one who merely treats their club as an expensive plaything.

I do appreciate that City fans will be enjoying their recent resurgance, after years of being a laughing stock to most of English football, but I know that in some older, more traditional City fans, there is a twinge of unease in how they have gained this success.

Along with most other football fans, I want Citeh to lose to Stoke, I want them to implode and manage to make it to 50 years without a trophy and I want them to spend a couple of billion without anything to show for it. But I don't expect Citeh fans to share that view. I expect Citeh fans to accept whatever success comes their way with relish.

Of course they should, they should be delighted by any success they get regardless of the money spent by owners/managers.

As for Everton, well I think MSH got it spot on tbh. It doesn't have to be some billionaire with cash like Sheikh Mansour or Abramovich. Investment is vital, however, we need improvement to the squad and fast but considering we've never had big money available we've done ok. We've finished in the top four and made an FA Cup Final appearance in recent years so in terms of what City have 'achieved' so far we've already done it. We have a very good squad, an excellent manager, a decent ground and an excellent fan base - we are just missing a few quid in the bank to improve the squad. We'll finish 7th this season and considering the start of the season we had that won't be bad at all as the teams above us where expected to be there and in terms of results we've, once again, shown we can compete with the top 6 teams.

ATM Everton are pretty much run according to their means. You don't buy 30m worth of players each year because you can't afford them. But there has been plenty of whining over Kenwright and demands for him to find a new, richer backer. So you're not happy with living according to your means, but you just don't want someone too rich so you'll be accused of buying success.

It shouldn't be a surprise that no one has shown any interest in buying Everton, you lot are too retarded to bother with.

I think what MSH is getting at is that he doesn't want to see a billionaire backer like City have to spend billions on achieving success that isn't guaranteed, as it isn't with City. But he wants someone who has the capital to be able to back Moyes in the transfer market. There has been calls for Kenwright to find investment, doesn't have to be a billionaire backer like Mansour or Abramovich but someone with funds to buy players. We've consistently finished in the top 7 of the league under Moyes, fourth one season and got to FA Cup Final, we've got great results against five of the top 6 teams this season, again, so with an improvement in quality on the field we believe we can challenge again.
