yesterday was very poor punting wise. bookies benefit. had a great time though going on the saturday for the first time.
aintree need to sort out the toilet situation though. the ratio of bars to bogs is laughable. waiting 20 mins for a pee after paying 50 quid is very poor. quick bar and bookie service though.
frankie was there in the tatts end doing some promo stuff with the daily mirror, just missed out on meeting the little bugger.
five quid for a pint, 7 quid for a cheeseburger (i didnt bother)
it is an unreal experience being there on national day but it is slightly annoying as a majority of the folk there are just there for a jolly up, they back a horse, forget which one, and then talk until the final 20 yards of the race. the view is cramped as it is, so trying to hear the commentary is even more of a challenge.
cant understand why some go there just to watch the racing inside on the bookies screens, why not go to the betting shop, pub or stay at home instead of paying 50 quid to watch a screen.
had a great few days trying to pick winners and just about made it out in profit, but im laying off now til punchestown to recharge my batteries.
