I agree with you in general. Suh is dominant, i think he could be the next Warren Sapp type dominant player and that is who i'd take, but i just don't see it. Your a Rams fan so maybe you know more, but i just get the feeling you'll go in a new direction and go Clausen and not spend it on a 3rd lineman in 3 years. Kind of like the Lions. QB wasn't the biggest need, but it signifies change.
As for us, assuming we are picking in the late 20's i think we go Offensive Line first, there are a couple of guys who i like, particularly Bulaga who hopefully would fall to us. Other than that i want Toby Gerhart to be our RB, hopefully we can get him in the 2nd or 3rd.
Oh, I'm not saying I'm right, we could easily go for either player and I wouldn't be surprised. As I've mentioned previously, over the last 10 years we've picked up defensive tackles in the first round almost as frequently as Detroit have picked wide receivers and most of them didn't work out and a question mark over Carriker still, so we might see a change with the QB pick.
I've not seen enough of Clausen to warrant saying we shouldn't pick him but I've not been over-awed by what I have seen and I can't help but think that some of his hype may be a product of the national
wank off that half of America has over Notre Dame.
Free agency will obviously change draft boards too but it's going to be another big off season.
