A Manchester United fan and a Manchester City fan collide in a huge accident. Both cars are a wreck, but both men are unhurt.

“This must be a sign from God that we are meant to be friends,” says the United fan.

“I agree,” replies the City one.

The United fan then returns to the wreckage and pulls out a bottle of whiskey from one of a cluster of shopping bags.

“Look,” he says to the City fan, “this must be another sign from God. We should drink this whiskey to celebrate our friendship and survival”

He hands the bottle over to the City fan, who takes a large gulp from the bottle before passing it back.

He casually screws the top back on and returns the bottle to his car.

“Oh, aren’t you having any?” asks the City fan.

“No,” he replies.

“I think I’ll wait until the police get here.”

If Fagan made those comments I think he deserved his head caved in. But he deserved his head caved in down the tunnel, when the CCTV cameras were obscured by the two teams.

Fagan didn't have his head caved in. Ferdinand just gave him a poor cheap shot which he'd have got over after 2 seconds.

If it's not true, which is what I said, isn't it "classy" of your club to excuse Ferdinand's stupid behaviour by lying about someone making comments over Mrs VDS's illness?

If it is true, doesn't your appeal, and the appeal over the failure of the appeal, ring completely hollow? If it's true then you were not only frivalous in your appeal, but you were actively cheating over the appeal.

Terry’s standing with the dressing room will inevitably be undermined by the disclosure that he had an affair with a fellow-international’s then girlfriend.

Not knowing the reason for the appeal in the first place i couldn't realistically comment.

my initial thoughts were that it was a frivolous appeal in order to allow him to play against city.
