I agree, we have to do it on D every week not to the same scale like but it's still a pain in the ass, especially after releasing pretty much our whole starting secondary from last year!
Chad Ochodropo is apparently struggling with injury this week along with Deion Branch so I am hoping we give Taylor Price a shot, heard a lot of good things about him even though he rarely gets a snap, he can't do much worse than 85 anyway!
Similar situation to Brandon Tate though I thought he should be used more then when he finally did he ran out of contract
I was impressed by the Ravens last night. Seemed to keep the 49ers well controlled on D and that was one of the more complete performances I've seen from Flacco.
And as I've said before it's the expectation that even when they are under par, that they are still going to come up with that game-winning drive, is what makes the Green Bay Packers the best team in the NFL (for now). The numbers of receivers which Rodgers uses must make life a living hell for Defensive Co-ordinators, and although they may sack him a couple of times, he gets up seemingly unbothered by the previous play and gets back to business. Fixture wise - most of the remaining games are at Lambeau and the game against NY next week poses the stiffest test by some margin, but an extra few days prep will do nicely with Hawk and Bishop picking up knocks on Thursday.

Would agree with that. You can limit us with a good defensive schemes but there will always be somebody to throw it to. There is no team in the league that has sufficient depth in the backfield to cover all of Jennings, Finley, Nelson, Driver, Jones etc on every play. Rodgers doesn't have a favourite receiver either and will spread it to whoever is open, plus you never see one of our receivers getting smashed by hits. He protects them with his throws too.
If we can beat NYG, which is a very tough test, then I fancy 16-0. If Chicago had Cutler then our second to last game could have also been very interesting but I think we can get some turnovers of Henie.
I can't remeber where it was said but the 49ers sticking close by (record wise) is very good for us. It keeps us focused on getting homefield advantage througout the play-offs, especially considering we haven't had a home field play-off game under A-Rod's control.

If we had a healthy d-line and secondary I think we'd match up very well. W ehave the pass rush to enable our secondary to make plays. The main problem we'd have is Finley. Webster, Prince, Thomas and Ross could live with the WR's. It's Finley we'd struggle with, also if we had a line of Osi, Cany, Joseph and JPP with Tuck appearing allover the line we'd have more than enough to get to Rodgers. The problem is, they are all banged up. I think it will be close until the end of the 3rd quarter.
Well i got 2 out of 3 right, gutted for the 49ers but then again they really dont need to win anymore as theyre going to win their division regardless. Suggs is mean though - great play.
Probably still want to anchor down #2 and the bye, as the Saints can close to just one game behind, so at least if they have to go to Lambaeu, it'll be in the Championship game.
Can't see that being nice though, Green Bay in January? Take a sweater.
Cracking game this weekend, Carolina sit bottom of the NFC, and visit Indy who sit bottom of the AFC (and overall), should be a wonderful display of precision attacking, swarming defence and special plays to warm the heart. Or it could be a turgid mess where the punters are barely off the field, and theres more chance of me coming home and finding Cameron Diaz in my bed, than the words "first down" being mentioned.

Don't think Carolina are as bad as their 2-8 record suggests - can't see anything other than an annihilation in this game.

Carolina have impressed me. They aren't too far off but are just falling short. They have 2 winable games against us coming up and they can put points on anyone. It's just their D knows how to concede too.
So looks like i'll be watching on RedZone tonight - i dont fancy 4 quarters of Houston vs Jacksonville somehow especially with Gabbert playing QB and a Schaub-less Texans. Houston have one of the best D's in the league in, so i'm expecting him to spend most of his time on his arris, either on the bench from throwing picks.
I just wonder how they'll do without Schaub, Foster killed it last time they played with almost 100 yards in both Receiving/rushing, but without the captain at the wheel...
