Adrian Lewis wins the world title and guess what Sid Wadell says "credit to Phil Taylor"
I know he helped him in the early days but give it a rest ffs, OBSESSED
I bet Waddell has a poster in his bedroom over his bed so he can crack one out to him. He is obsessed with Taylor and it is getting sad to hear it all the time.
From what I've seen of the tournament , They haven't been to bad. 164 ...Av it.
Some games have still had problems IMO. There was somebody booing whilst Webster was throwing against Lewis in particular.
Good final but not great, as I don't think the result ever really looked in doubt. Anderson played below his previous form, every time he seemed to get back in it he started throwing regular 57-60s on his own throw, and with Lewis banging in 180s like he was he just pulled away again.
Good to see that Lewis is on his way to sorting his big-match temperament now, if Anderson does the same and Barneveld sorts himself out it could become a very even and wider playing field should Taylor's wobble continue for a bit, there'll be 7 or 8 in the mix.
Bang on mate. Waddell is a t/sser par excellance ... he is up Taylor's @rse. We could be watching players from Outer Mongolia ... and still he would make reference to Taylor. And his over-stacker, under-stacker, air-shot stuff is complete bollox. The man is an idiot and should be sectioned.
Give the guy some credit,he did actually help to get darts on the telly in the first place. He is a nice bloke if you meet him.

He didn't at all, it's a complete myth. darts was going long before Taylor came along and will be long after Taylor's gone. This whole Taylor's got darts on the map, Taylor's got professional dart players earning thousands of pounds and Taylor's got darts tournaments around the world that Dave Clark bangs on about in nearly every interview and every time he appears on the tele. The PDC was formed by Tommy Cox, Dick Allix and John Markovic and when the board stepped down in 2001 Barry Hearn took control and he took darts to the next level along with SKY, Taylor's just a player not the brains behind any of this and if you're talking about Sid and not Taylor he didn't either, he just talks and talks a lot.

I don't know where you were when we started this thread up but since you've started posting on here I think I've agreed with everyone. Spot on with that all his over-stacker, under-stacker and air-shot stuff is complete shite but the one that gets me is when he says 'he's broke the laws of physics' No sid he clearly hasn't. Dave Clark's getting worse now though, he mentions Taylor nearly everytime he interviews a player or talks darts in general. Pathetic.

TBF, yes he did with Indoor League.
Completely agree he spouts rubbish and needs replacing though. It's very frustrating that he gets all the big games as well.

Darts was already on TV before Indoor League came on air, it enhanced darts and made players well known no doubt but it wasn't responible for darts being shown on TV, that had happed years earlier.

So it did help to get Darts on TV then (and in your words, helped put it 'on the map'? It's not only the first instance of something that deserves recognition/credit. Sky is well down the line of Darts coverage, but there's no denying that the quality they provide is very good for the game.
All I'm saying is, Waddell has done Darts some good. If you let your dislike of him blind you to that, you're going down a similar path to him and his Taylor worship.

Yeah, it did help raise the profile of darts. It isn't always the first instance that deserves credit, you're right and Indoor League did help raise the profile of darts indeed but for me Sky have made darts what it is today, look at the BDO, the quality just isn't there, the players and tournaments are lightyears apart and that's largely thanks to Sky and the PDC.

I'd completely agree, Waddell has done darts wonders. If you ask most people who they associate with darts a majority of people would say Taylor and Waddell amongst others, obviouslt. Personally, I like Waddell just not when he's commentating on Taylor, otherwise his passion and knowledge of darts is phenominal and no one compares to that. It's his Taylor worship that I hate and that's mosty when he's commentating on him. Otherwise he's not too bad.

I was actually talking about Sid.He helped to get darts off the ground on the telly with The Indoor League,as far as I am aware, although you seem to think that it was on earlier, wont argue with that, but no doubt you can put me right as you seem to be the font of all knowledge as far as darts is concerned.
Whether or not you like Waddell or Taylor, they have both helped to bring darts to where it is today.
And Ollie Croft shot himself in the foot and Hearn rode the gravy train.
Oh and I know there was darts before Taylor,I might be getting on a bit but I remember watching Jocky,Bristow,Low, Rees etc on the t.v. so less of the sarcasm if you don`t mind.
