I would say it is pretty much impossible to be struck by something and avoid it at the same time.

They paid £22m for him. They ain't selling him for a measly £8m profit. Seeing as he is their biggest asset I don't think he's going unless someone pays really stupid money for him. I think he'll be staying at Liverpool at least until the latter stages of his new contract.

And so you aim towards the sky,

Far from pain....

I thought neither of the Manchester sides looked very impressive today. The Premier League's a bit poor in terms of quality at the top this season. Although it'll probably make for some excitement/drama.

Fully agree.....The art of defending has been completely lost. There isn't a side in the league who actually know how to defend properly, bar Stoke City, who have to rely on their defending for their points, because they are so incompetent in attack....

If any of the present top six could get their defence sorted, to match their attacking prowess, then they would be nigh on unstoppable.

Whilst United should be respected for their lead at the top of the table, I think we'll get a more honest appraisal of their actual quality when they face the top sides in the Champions League - Their defence looked ropey against dross like Braga, God only knows what Barca and Real will do to them?

Let's be honest, neither team played that well or near their best and yet there was five goals. Could easily have been another four or five in it. Still, exciting wasn't it and a reminder that being the most exciting league is preferable to being the best league (that's nothing against other leagues btw as they may be as exciting or more so).

I agree it might be exciting, because of the amount of goals, but sometimes it would be nice to see two sides play each other who can defend as well as attack

Its a bit like modern day Rugby League, where we consider it more exciting, because we see about 10 tries a game, but in reality its because sides simply can't do the basics defensively, leading to games becoming like Basketball, where tries/goals become increasingly worthless, because there are so many of them.
