After watching Barca play Arsenal I said they are on a different level to every other team in the world. Last night's game was like watching United at home to a championship team. Absolute dominance, and that isn't having a go at United at all, they are just that good.

Why do people on here keep trying to put the Premier League down as a competition when it is quite simply the biggest, best and most entertaining domestic league in the world. To suggest otherwise when the evidence is pretty weak baffles me. It's as if it's driven by some sort of perverted desire to not want to acknowledge the qualities and achievements of the clubs in the competition that do succeed. People might wish to suggest things about the current league champions but then completely overlook the fact that Hernandez, Rooney and Berbatov have, at times, been one of the most effective front rotations that they have produced under Taggart. I would take those current three over Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and Solksjaer any day.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

I don't think anybody is putting the competition down as such, merely pointing out that this year many teams under-performed (Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal being definite examples).

As for you taking United's present forward options in comparison to 98/99??....You are joking??......The lazy Berbatov v a wily old Sheringham??.....A novice Hernandez v experienced goalscorers like Cole, Yorke and Solksjaer??

Yes, Rooney is a class player, but even he this year has been patchy......United's side of that '99 era were a clinical, efficient, good-to-watch side.....This present lot have relied on the intimidation factor that Old Trafford holds over many opponents to win the league.....Their away form is a fair reflection of how average a bunch they truly are.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Barcelona, some distance, the rest.

You just have to simply acknowledge that they are an incredible side, with footballing system that no-one else can utilise due to their players.

Despite being put to the sword, you have to appreciate that 3-1 was quite flattering. I was fearing another couple of goals.

If only Giggs and Scholes were ten years younger Utd, may have had a chance at trying to get an even share of possession.

I actually thought Utds approach of countering by hitting it long and early was the correct one, but the execution was sorely missing.

Possibly. It is also the amount of times they have won the league title.
