I suppose, like you say, it is a question of expectations. Those players you mention are completely terrible. Smith is at least better than those. For me there is a difference between complete bust and draft bust though.

Chiefs are a fairly decent team. I really like Charles and they have a good defence. With a good QB I think they would be competing for a wild card (simply because Denver is winning the division).

Fair play to Flacco though. He had leverage and seems to have used it well!

I don't Rodgers will want it though. Strikes me as more of a team guy who may have a more cap friendly deal.

As a Chargers fan, I am delighted with the Smith deal! He is the kind of player who will keep the chiefs picking in the 8-15 range, so missing out on a top prospect QB for at least the next three years. The only thing that's concerning is that's another LT off the board before the Super Chargers pick at 11. On the plus side, Brandon Albert will likely be hitting FA so hopefully a LT needy team will offer him a deal.

Some cap clearing going on at the Falcons.

Turner, Abraham and Robinson all out the door.

Expect to see enhanced deals and roles for Rodgers and Biermann, plus a move for another pass rusher in FA.

First round draft choice will be determined by Gonzalez decision on whether to play on or not. If he goes, there are a couple of good TEs likely to be available late in round one.

After agreeing a deal with Bowe the Chiefs just franchised Albert so he's staying in KC.Looks like the Chiefs are spending some money at last.Good to see as they've got great fans that haven't had a consistant winning team since since the 90's.

What do you think will happen with Grimes? He intrigues me and I'd love to see him in SD.
