I've not seen enough of him to criticize or praise the apparent bid. People were jizzing allover him at Christmas saying he was going to United/City. Suddenly he's linked with us and he becomes the biggest laughing stock in the world. As for mocking £18m investments on English players, Owen Hargreaves will always be the benchmark. Always.

Paranoia and bitterness in the extreme. Hargreaves was an integral part of winning a champions league and Premier league title, then has had injury problems. Now Robbie Keane and Aquilani, there's some classic money wasting. £40 million = foook all, and how much was Glen "chubby" Johnson. I agree that we probably haven't got value for money and the price was probably a bit high, but he is nowhere near as bad a signing as you make out, considering how much your own club fritters away on a yearly basis. I'm sure you know that really.

According to a decent ITK on twitter, Henderson, Jones, Wickham and Downing will be hopefully concluded in 10 days. With a left back, Adam and Mata still very much on the radar, our squad is certainly taking shape for next season, and more importantly the next few years looking at the ages of the majority of signings we are making. People concerned about the price puzzles me. It's not mine or your money and JWH is showing that he isn't afraid of splashing the cash and backing Kenny to the hilt. We're unloading the majority of Poulsen, Konchesky, Cole, NGog, Aurelio, Kyriagkos, B Jones and Jovanovic so the wages are in place looking at that lot.

For the first time in many, many moons we will finally have a bench that we can actually call on during a game.

I'll be gobsmacked if most or all of them don't come off. For some reason I'm doubtful on Adam but I may be wrong on that. Theroetically speaking we could line up something like

That's if everything comes off and as you rightly say, nothings concrete yet.
