Just watched the Alonso "Big interview" from the other night. Absolutley cracking in-depth interview about his time in Liverpool, the fans and his future.

Most of the names released in the previous Operacion Puerto probe were of cyclists, but it was also rumoured at the time that footballers were also involved. Fuentes himself has apparently now further encouraged those rumours, as he is said to have told fellow cellmates over the weekend, “If I told them what I know, then goodbye to the World Cup and European championship.” The Spanish national team are the reigning European and world champions, having won the titles in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

Not sure about that. IMO He could be part of a top 6 squad but wouldn't be first choice.

On the subject of the top 6 and midfielders...I can see all of those teams picking up a central midfielder.

Haven't heard anything over here about it. Wenger after a French player? Surely not.

According to Spanish radio the Real Madrid Sporting Director has been sending Ronaldo text messages asking him to tap up Neymar. He (Ronaldo) is due to play for Brazil against Romania tomorrow as his farewell match.

Baffling. A player who, at 26, has never convinced his critics. He still looks one dimensional and he's still inconsistent. Football people seem to love him, but he baffles me, to be honest.

What views do you have on Young? I think he will be the catch of the summer. The prize asset at Villa in my eyes, mostly down to his versatility left, right, down the middle, just off. I still think he has loads more to give, probably down to us and you, hope it's us.

He's a good player who has a good delivery, but is too inconsistent for me. However, he can use both feet which is also a bonus, he'd do well at United having the ball whipped out to him and always having options in the box with Rooney and Hernadez. I'd rather have Gervinho. That's my opinion.

A very talented player but I question his intelligence at times. Has a wicked cross on him, has two good feet and can be lethal in open space, but I'm still unsure on how he'd do with less space. I'd like him at us, three position players are pivotal these days.
