There's a reason when a QB slides you never see a player hit them - because it's a flag, Fletcher didn't start the hit until the slide had started which is why it was a flag. The fact the spot of the ball is at the start of the slide is also confirmation that the start of the slide is the end of a play - the commentators say it on a weekly basis too (especially when the slide is close to the 1st down).
But let's not let facts get in the way of your petty hate of all things Patriots eh?
I remember Rodgers sliding last year against Detroit. He was hit when sliding by the defender and got a concussion. (missed the game against you). No flag.
