Pre season and England friendlies are the sporting equivalent of non alcholic beer, with the Community Shield being a 1% alcohol "Swan Lite". They should be played behind closed doors as all they do is take the edge off of the start of the season.

Mate, I am confused by your selection of 'smiley'. Was your post a cheeky dig at the 'Imre banana' craze or were United fans actually given inflatable bananas?

I remember the banana craze. Didn't the Megastore try exploiting the increased popularity of these by selling inflatable tridents?

Don't know. I believe it was the 'superstore' in those days.

As far as I'm aware they didn't give out inflatable bananas sadly.
