According to 5Live Benitez isn't being offered the job because he wanted £30 million to spend and Lerner wasn't prepared to give it to him plus it looks certain Young will be off and possibly a couple of others, you can see why Martinez isn't willing to give it a go. It's interesting how people get on someone's back because they show a bit of loyalty to a club that have been loyal to him. Why jump ship just because Villa are interested? doesn't mean it's the right move, maybe he wants to give it a couple more years at Wigan and go from there. He's young manager, plenty of years to move on to other, bigger clubs.
