I don't know very little about Arsenal's finances apart from the fact that they have a large debt that is being serviced. I thought that they made a small profit last season. If you are only making a small profit when qualifying for the CL, and making it to the second stage of that competition, I would imagine that non-qualification would lead to a large loss.
Maybe someone with a combination of financial expertise and knowledge of Arsenal (lucky to find more than a handful of people who are knowledgeable about football on this forum).
