A frustrating day at OT today...on/off a few times for bad light then an early finish cos of GOOD light

But Laxman yet again proved his utter class with a score of 113 coming after he got some kind of injury very early on in the morning...Steven Croft batted extremely well for his 79 too and Andrew Miller bowled well for Warwickshire to get 3 wickets.

Declare overnight to stop Warwickshire getting any extra points then have 2 days to force the win - we can finish 4th here!!!

By my reckoning sussex are now down. bowled out for 243 in first innings, they can now reach a maximum of 157 points, and the other teams who were in danger have all exceeded that total with the bonus points already accrued in thier current matches.

Indeed they are. Was always the likely outcome, but still bloody worrying.

Now to try and finish above our lovely neighbours...

I know there isn't much difference in the division, apart from Durham and Worcestershire, but for Yorkshire to have to rely on a result in their last game to stay up 3 out of the last 4 seasons isn't really good enough.

The positive has to be that, out of the team that has played the last two games, 6 of them are relatively young home-grown players, and we have Bresnan and Rashid to add to that and, at times, they have shown that there is some quality there - the question is can it be developed and built on?

Ironically it wouldn't be bad news for Yorkshire in terms of the development of Patterson, Lee, Wainwright and Rafiq if they lost Bresnan and Rashid to international calls on a more regular basis.

It's still the batting that worries me though, the overseas player for 2010 really needs to be someone who can come in and bat at 4-5 to work with the younger players in the middle order.

Lancs have today announced the signing of Stephen Moore after he decided to leave Worcestershire yesterday...potentially a cracking signing for us and should form a stable and potentially excellent opening partnership with Paul Horton....now, another couple of quality batsmen please Mr Moores - Solanki and Prince or Laxman would do me fine!!

Ah well, thanks for the memories Hoggy, at least it spares you having to work with prats like Moxon and Graves for another year.

Any idea/rumours where he may end up mate? There were rumours earlier in the season about Worcestershire but with them going down I doubt that...get to Lancs Hoggy - where better to prove the Yorkshire hierarchy wrong???

Wouldn't surprise me if he did end up at Worcester - they've got some recruiting to do to catch up for the players that have departed. Be a good upgrade for them to replace Kabir Ali IMO.

So at the minute, Yorkshire's new ball attack for 2010 is Tim Bresnan and Ajmal Shahzad (assuming Bresnan isn't away on England duty). Noises are being made about this supposed list of recruits Yorkshire have lined up for 2010, but like most things that come out of Colin Graves's mouth it'll be hot air.

Just the latest in a long line of good servants to the club treated like excrement. He's best of out of it.

Worcester were after him and Shahzad earlier in the year.
