I'm surprised Fergie hasn't spent a chunk of the money from Ronaldo. I mean, how many squads can confidently lose their best and most productive player? Valencia will do well, but he doesn't have the consistent end product like CR7 did. People are expecting Rooney to step up to the plate, but CR's boots are big boots to fill.

Id say £10m is about right TBH espeically in todays transfer market, Lescott is valued around £20m by Everton although hes better than Turner ATM hes not that much better IMO

Bassong went to Spurs for around £10m didnt he? and although hes quality and i rate him highly Turner he just as good if not better than Bassong

The team will adapt a different style, players like Carrick will have more licence to get forward as we don't have to cover Ronny's floor smacking tantrums and lack of tracking back.

So actually rated him at £12m? Jesus, that's even worse!

Just take off the Tigers tinted specs and see that Turner is nowhere near worth £10m.

And you can't really use Bassong as an excuse, Redknapp will throw money at anyone at the moment, especially players who have almost signed on the dotted line for another club.

I am surprised too and as a result am tipping us to finish 3rd this season, that said the squad does still look good and if Berba does better and Valencia and Owen play well then who knows. Also he has the money to spend in January should he need to and if not then I would imagine the big investment will come next summer when VDS, Scholes and Neville could all retire and possibly Giggs too. There is also Tosic and Llaaic to come in this season and neither played a part last year.

turner is never worth 10 or 12m
