McGeady is like the new Michael Owen in so much as the only ones who rate him highly are the fans of the club/country he plays for. £12 million is absurd and, frankly laughable.

To be fair though, the fact that I am a Celtic fan means that I probably see more of him play.

I don't trump up every player to be great because they play for one of my teams, and are seen by their supporters as some form of demi-God, as anyone who knows my stance on Elano would agree.

Personally, I reckon a fan of a club knows more about the capabilities of it's players than those on the outside do.

Still, I felt the same after finding out whilst standing outside Hampden that our tickets had been lost on the way and I ended up in the pub.

It would have been harder to take had we won.

Indeed. My brother will now NOT be getting a birthday present on Thursday!

I dunno if he was pickpocketed or not but needless to say, I missed our sporadic visit to the national stadium yesterday through no fault of my own.

Such pick-pocketing behaviour is rife at football finals. I remember my hand not leaving my pocket for three hours before the Play Off final in 1999 such was my paranoia about the ticket going for a Burton.

You should report it as CCTV could possibly pick out which buggers where sat in your seats.

PS I remembered a glorious tale the other day of a colleague who grew up a Rangers fan but by the time I started working with him in the early 1990s, he was a committed a Dundee United fan.

His conversion to United was made when he went to University in Dundee, but the demise of his Rangers supporting days came when he was a small boy on the terraces of Hampden, and at half time he sat down on the terraces in the midst of his crowd. Apparently whilst he was sat there half the Rangers support decided to have a piss in his Parka coat hood. Something he failed to realise until the heavens opened and he put his hood up in an (unfortunately fruitless) attempt to keep his Bay City Rollers tribute haircut dry!

Looks like the treble is in the bag for Rangers then.

At least Dundee United made them work for it on Sunday which is more than Celtic have done all year.

Utter garbage that was tonight.

A double whammy for me this week then. At least a Rangers v Celtic Cup Final would have opened up the fourth spot in the league guaranteed the UEFA Cup. Now I have to hope for a Rangers win in the Cup to help my own side. Preferably though, United finish third and Queen of the South win the Cup!!!

Oh. Celtic. I know I am not your biggest fan but compared to Aberdeen I LOVE YOU!!!! Gutted at that result last night.

Now I am off to hunt out a Queen of the South avatar!
