Why should it only be Liverpool matches? It was a tragedy that affected the entire footballing world which is something you probably won't remember to be fair, the images on the news and in the papers the days after we're very upsetting even for fans of other clubs.

Could be because as a match goer I have seen and heard the bile that other fans come out with about Hillsborough and would rather it was left to us, the applause it just weird why not a minutes silence?

I'd go for Ireland over Modric every day of the week on this seasons form.

More than likely!

Bassong has been far and away our best player this season. That top three stinks of being chosen by know-nothing 'outsiders'.

You have actually heard it yourself? Why should all other fans be tarnished with the same brush as those who want to give it the memorial it deserves.

Like Ashley Young then.

You don't need to watch 30 games to realise a player is poor. I like Bassong though.

If you need 30 games on which to base an opinion, then you can have no opinion of Michael Johnson. Have you actually seen Anderson play 30 times? I doubt it.

You don't, but you're heading towards that number if you want to gather a real opinion about someone's game. I personally think it's a little daft judging a player in a handful of games, I'd rather judge them over a sustained period.

Enfield Exile wrote:
Spot the hypocrisy in the above post.

Strange, because I recall giving my opinion on Johnson, but it didn't match up with your opinion of him being 'class' so I therefore 'didn't have a clue' about him, apparently.

Enfield Exile wrote:
Your opinion may not have been wrong but the basis of your argument was inaccurate, thus I ridiculed you. You were not even aware of Johnson's trenths and waeknesses. How can I debate with someone who has a lack of knowledge about the subject?

Again though, in your opinion. I don't see why Johnson's strengths in your opinion are exactly what his strengths are. I listed what I thought his strengths were and some of them even matched yours. But because I noticed other parts of his game and probably missed some too, I automatically didn't know anything about him and couldn't debate about it. I'd expect you to know more about him because you see him more than I do. I think he's a good player like I mentioned on several occasions before but I'd prefer Anderson in my team. I don't see how that makes my opinion of his game wrong or inaccurate.

How can I debate with you about Beye when you've posted utter bile about him which simply isn't true? His tackling and technique are his two biggest assets but according to you he doesn't know how to tackle and has no technique. You chose to slate him for his two biggest assets which makes you look more than a little silly.

Enfield Exile wrote:
Tell me of a comment made by a teatowel? Monty Pythonesque, I know but it highlights how childish your statement really is.

A tea towel wouldn't respond, thus being more sensible than some of your comments.

Yes I have seen and heard it like I said in my last post, not all fans are the same I know that but applause is wrong IMO should be silence or nothing the FA, LFC and HFSG have got this wrong.

Me too.

Ireland is a better passer, he's an excellent defender and has a great engine.

Modric is like a rag doll. He's been effective in about 3 games.

Stephen Ireland more impressive than Modric this season ? Okay Mr Manchester City supporter. We'll take your word for it, although I suspect you may be the only person on earth to have this view.

Ireland is a better passer, better infront of goal, far superior defender and has a better engine.

Your delusional rantings know no bounds.

King has never been a central midfielder, hence why he didn't impress there. I won't entertain the nonsense that he can't pass or carry the ball. Fancy one of the best attackling midfielders on earth making a centre half playing out of position look silly eh ? Who eva wud a thunk it ?

You said he was a ‘footballer’, intimating that he was skillful. I simply pointed out that he is a defender, and as a typical defender is a poor passer of the ball and is ineffective with the ball. He is far more effetive when he is without the ball.

Marginally ?????!!!! Bwahahahaha. Try watching some of Tottenham before commenting.

Seen them more tha you, sadly. Your upturn in form has as much to do, if not more, with some presence in midfield (i.e. Wilson Palacios), Lennon’s form, Keane’s return and Bent’s mini-renaissance.

Where were you sat at WHL on Saturday? I was in the North Stand (bet you don’t even know the name that fans give to that stand), three seats away from the Block 19 entrance.

Ferdinand is marginally better with the ball at his feet. King isn't prone to the lapses of concentration that Ferdinand is on the other hand. Ferdinand hasn't nearly had his career finished either. King is on a par with the bloke without training all week.

Marginally better? Are you going for understatement of the year?

Ferdinand is as skillful as any English footballer. He can do far more with the football than King could ever do.

King isn’t prone to lapses of concentration. Do I need to remind you of the two lapses King made this season that led directly to goals? I probably will have to as you don’t watch them very often.

What are you talking about ? He was injured so couldn't play, now he is obviously improving due to the lack of midweek football.

He’s been takinga wage knowing that he will never be fit enough to train and play more than once a week. All Spurs supporters know as a fact that King’s knee will never recover to allow him to play more than once a week.

Again, I would suggest you actually watch some Tottenham games before making yourself look silly by posting about them on here.

You have made yourself look silly by saying that Ferdinand is only marginally more skillful than King? Not to mention you going on about Modric on the basis of about 3 decent games.

What pub do you drink in before the games?

put in the kind of performance against Chelsea that Ireland could only dream of.

I went on Saturday, and have to say that appart from the goal, he did very little. Howegver, Harry's mates in the press made sure he go the plaudits. maybe you coudl list four or five things he did on Saturday. I'm all ears.

Ireland could blow that out of the water with about 15 of his performances this season. Try Schalke away and Arsenal at home as examples.

Your comment is an embarrassment.

He has the same number of assists whilst Ireland has scored more goals.

Interesting that you use those stats, with Ireland being a mdfielder and Modric playing in a more advanced role. Ireland has consistently produced chances each season, and looks far more dangerous than Modric when he has the ball. He's only a kid and this is his first season playing in central midfield. Although this season he has been forced to play on the left and the right at times (e.g. Fulham away).

Ireland has looked better than Modric throughout the season. That's clear to all. Whether it's with or without the ball.

Modric was built up by Slaven Billic. He's not top quality, and never will be. Didn't you say the same about Dos Santos? Is he still at Ipswich?
