No I didn't miss it. You were blatantly incorrect with one or two things that you said. I actually wasn't trying to be patronising. That's why I said "fella" in my post.

Completely disagree. He's no world beater by any means but he's only young and has shown already that he has plenty of potential. He's a very tidy player with superb composure on the ball. To say he cannot pass is quite laughable. He isn't the best tackler in the world but puts a lot of work in and does come up with the odd crucial tackle. When he's played, he's done the job of two men because of him playing alongside Butt. Put him next to Nolan or Barton and he'd come into his own.

Barton cannot tackle. Neither can Nolan. I'm not sure his defensive duties will reduce that much.

When I say "can't pass", I mean create something, open teams up and pass long . I think football fans are easily pleased nowadays. They think someone "can pass" if they square the ball to a colleague 10 yards away.

A tad loose? Nevermind a tad, he's always loose, mainly when he's passing or trying to control the ball. He hasn't helped the rest of the team, not the other way round. He is very much the weak link in our side and would be nowhere near the first team if everybody was fit. Without him in the side, no matter who we were playing, we'd be a much better side, even against the physical sides. He doesn't have the legs to do much anymore.

I'll take your word for i as you see him play more than I do but in respect of Guthrie, I still think he is Mike Marsh Mark II

Pato and Kroos hardly featured for Milan and Bayern like Anderson featured for United during 08.

Anderson's better than Johnson IMO, by far.

Is there a minimum number of performances they have to play? they are much better than Anderson.

Anderson is not much better than Johnson at all. He is superior in terms of defensive duties and he has a better workrate. That's it. He has no end product. Midfielders without an end product are 'cloggers'

Well you know, if Anderson has say 10-20 good performances, it gives him more of a chance than a player who has had 5-10 good games, if that.

That's the way awards are usually given, you know, on form and so on.


I think Anderson is, I think he's superior physically in every aspect, is a much better dribbler and certainly has more potential. His passing isn't quite defined, but he does have a good eye for a pass, and he sets up many opportunities for his team mates. Johnson is decent, but when I watch him play, I think he'll only ever be 'good', whereas Anderson, I feel he'll be world class.
