I agree. But just because we've selected players who aren't good enough in the past doesn't mean we should compound it by doing it again. If someone was going to take a punt on Davies they should have done it years ago.

Jesus, looks like I'm in a minority of one and everybody else is either:-

Happy that Davies is good enough for England; or
Thinks that it's OK to select anyone you like as long as we've selected someone worse in the past!*

You've all convinced me - Davies for England! Do you think we can get Philip Schofield to play in nets?

You're not on your own, I agree wholeheartedly.

IMO Davies has never, still isn't, and in all likelihood will never be, either good enough for or suited to the international game.

No he isn't international quality. You can't argue that he grafts, but the simple fact is, he doesn't have that little bit extra that seperates the international class players from the rest.

Andy Cole could n't make it happen at international level and he was a far better goalscorer than Davies.
