I missed out on the glory years, only been watching since 2004 so blame me for almost a decade of failure - I support Salford and Oldham Athletic so you can see a pattern emerging in general shiteness of the teams I follow
Madden was also my route into the sport, although I do remember briefly seeing it on Channel 4 when I was younger and I did own a Joe Montana game on the Megadrive. Rams were the team I played as on Madden 2002 (I think it was 2002) when I picked it up on the Gamecube - I liked the uniforms and they were pretty much the best team in the game with Faulk, Warner, Pace, Holt and Bruce on the team. Was a bit different when I started actually watching the games and Warner had gone to New York, his career deemed over, and Faulk's career was on the slide with his knees pretty much shot!
