I hope they do go Matt Stafford first overall.

He will end up like David Carr/ Joey Harrington. He has zero protection and only one reciever to throw to in Calvin "Megatron" Johnson.

I honestly have no ideas or thoughts on who Detroit will pick but i would guess at stafford only because its the easy option for them IMO

They should go for the lines. Offensive tackle and defense at 20.

It is obvious they will go Stafford though.

The Lions did well out of the Williams trade to Dallas so have plenty of picks. It's not out of the question to go OT with the 1st, then trade back into the top 10 for Stafford or Sanchez.

I'd say likely to do it the other way around.

Take Stafford one and then trade up for the lineman. I'd be tempted to accept the number 20 and 33 pick for our 9 pick so they can go lineman but i doubt Thompson would do it.

The more i think about it the more i'm not sure what we should do with nine.

1. Offensive lineman. Michael Oher or anybody who falls could take over right now on our offensive line especially with Cliffy and Tausch being 30+

2. NT. Raji is the obvious choice but i believe i read somewhere that he has never played 3-4 NT at Boston. Not sure but if thats true i'd shy away and get a NT in round two.

3. DE. Tyson Jackson. We have no DE for opposite Jenkins and Jackson is the only good one in the draft.

4. OLB. We could get a top tier OLB like Maybin or Brown to help Kampman.

5. RB. I love Moreno. Please get him Thompson.

I'm leaning towards Tyson Jackson though in reality.

Funny, I see Jackson coming to the Chargers too...if he falls. The more I read though, the more I'm not convinced. I've read LSU fans opinions and they don't rate him. I've heard that since Dorsey left last year he hasn't stepped up to the plate as expected.

Needs wise for the Chargers....

Safety, but there's no value in the 1st round - they passed on Polomalu in the 2003 draft
DE, beyond Jackson there aren't many suitable 3-4 DE's 1st round worthy
OT, Clary must be upgraded so this is an option if Oher, Smith (Andre) or the like drop. However, noises from San Diego are that they think Clary can be a starter
ILB, Rey Maulauga is the pick here
RB, LT won't be putting up the numbers he always does forever (or even next season if some posters on here are to be believed! ) and Sporles is not a replacement. Moreno or Wells are possibilities, but I doubt it. I fancy Donald Brown or Andre Brown further down.

I think the best option would be to trade our pick to get back into round 2. If Freeman drops, the likes of the Bronco's, Bucs or Lions may be interested to sneak in ahead of the Jets at 17. The difference in quality of players from say 10-25 isn't that vast it seems so I would hope AJ Smith can manage to do something like this.

Fair enough.

I have doubts over Raji (and he failed a drug test allegedly) and you say LSU fans doubt Jackson. The fact is we desperately need a DE and there are no others available until Gilbert in round two i think. We have a front three of:

Nobody. Mike Montgomery at the minute i think is penciled to be LDE
Picket at NT
Jenkins at RDE

I'd be open to trading back a few spots where we could still take Jackson.

I've seen one mock with Eugene Monroe falling to the Raiders, that would be one hell of a steal.

Most others have Crabtree, Andre Smith, Maclin and Raji going there. I've seen Heyward-Bey and Michael Johnson too, but Johnson could be got in the 2nd round I think.

Confused re Miami and their draft choice.

All the experts are saying we'll go WR in the first round yet all the forums are saying we need to concentrate on defense and Parcells record shows he is heavily favourable to go defense.

Should be interesting.
