I think the bid for Carroll was using that money, but I still think Torres will go, irrespective of us finding a replacement.

Barrett and George Caulkin are the people to be looking out for, they seem to be bang in the thick of it at both ends, and seem to be getting every twist and turn before the rest.

Newcastle rejecting the bid makes sense if they can't line up a replacement, but if they do manage to get one, I do feel that £35m will be the magic figure, however inflated that may look.
